I find her a really exciting player to watch. Love the way she runs with the ball and basically either dances or bulldozes her way through several defenders - she can do either! And if she can’t get the shot off or pass it, she is also good at winning us corners. My favourite moment recently was her goal against Chelsea where she left none other than Lucy Bronze for dead.
She has a feistiness about her play which gets under opponents skin and I think she has picked this up from her pal McCabe.....although she's a little more subtle about it!
Unbelievably, Foord already has more goals to her name at the end of November than she did for the entirety of last season across all competitions (8 vs. 6). Of course the Rangers performance is boosting that number, but still! The difference made by the quality of partnerships on the pitch is so stark, and I think also the break that getting grouped at the Olympics 'a-Foord-ded' her as opposed to last year's non-existent pre-season.
I find how hot and cold Foord can be very interesting. She’ll have a brilliant match and then two matches later have a run of stinkers (the two contrasting Juve matches come to mind—the home one was not a particularly shining performance for the majority of the match). If consistency has been the biggest struggle in the last four years, feels like she exemplifies that. While I agree that she’s had an overall decent year so far, I can’t help but want a more consistent end product.
You have to wonder what this means for Beth Mead and her contract renewal. Between her and Lotte’s contracts both being up at the end of this season, feels like some big calls are going to have to be made.
