Interesting observations Tim, which probably sums up the situation. I also agree with Alex's comment below, I don't think Jonas was a 'people person' whereas Joe was. Perhaps one was too nice and the other not nice enough from a team and PR perspective?
I think one overriding aspect that keeps being overlooked is - how the players loved playing for Joe as compared to Jonas. Leaving out miedema, or having a video going viral where he is seen pushing miedema is not something that would have endeared him to the squad, i guess. However to not talk about that aspect is a bit misleading - there needs to be a deepdive into Jonas and how he connected with the squad, the human element... expect a bit more detailed work on this from you - tim..
I agree with you in that, In a lot of ways, Joe was wenger and jonas a much stricter emery - we need someone with both.
By the end with Joe, we had much the same situation we have with Jonas and it just needed to end, the message was lost. I don't think there is a big distinction. I don't see how I would be able to write such a piece without getting players to go on the record (or even off the record unattributed) about that and there is more chance of Spurs winning the Premier League than that happening. Only someone who was at the training ground every day could write or inform such a piece.
I respect your thoughts on this matter... however, i still feel that you are one of the very few journalists out there, who can get to the bottom of this matter. Do try to dig deep on this matter...if you can.
The fact is that since that last title win Arsenal have gone backwards while Chelsea & City have progressed. The gap is huge. A decade ago there was no touching Arsenal. What is needed is a complete reset with a plan in place to reclaim the lost ground. We need a world class coach.
I wouldn't read much into this, a lot of players don't follow one another and Jonas is not active on any platforms anyway. Joe and Pedro also weren't followed by any players- most people don't follow their bosses on social media!

Cheers Tim!

Do you know how many players followed Jonas on social media? Zero. That says a lot!
