Great article.

I really like Emma Hayes' reply to the question (and easier for her to be so clear with her track record).

The clear intention is to make Arsenal consistently among the top teams in Europe. The question is going to be, can players buy-in to this and the whole squad required approach, rather than "I need to be a regular starter" approach.

I really hope she re-signs and also reaps the rewards.

The way the game is going, and with the introduction of the five subs rule, successful match day teams are more about the squad on the day than the 11 starters. It's the job of the coach to create this atmosphere within the team to make the 'impactors' in any game feel just as important. It's about game state now, more than ever. Some players will want to be part of that, where others will want to be the bigger fish in a smaller pond. Every player has their own goals (!) in their careers, and recruitment of the correct player and personality is so important when you have the coaches that has the outlook of managers like Jonas
