Great article as always. To see deliberate steps to fix last year's issues is encouraging.

A great read as always Tim! First time commenter here. Given their different attributes, do you think that Jonas will approach his squad rotation this season by bringing these more unpredictable players into the lineup when he knows we're going to be playing against a low block, and stick with his standard lineup for that structured Eidevall attack against better teams? Or do you think we'll see an integration/mixing of the two styles more?

I think this will be interesting to see but really suspect we will see a more fluid approach against the low blocks and a structured approach against the bigger teams.

Love it - great insight.

Really encouraging to hear about different options, the chaos approach against the low block makes so much sense. It will create opportunity and hopefully also avoids having too many players being sucked into the attack, with the risk that brings of being hit on the break.

Really like the "losing the ball in the final third gives the team the opportunity to counter press". This both gives permission to give it a go, and don't worry about losing the ball as that can also be good.

I played defence at a very low level, and even for me I found it wasn't impossible to keep much better players at bay by standing up, not jumping in and showing them onto their weaker foot (etc). The very last thing I wanted against those players was to win and gain the ball, that would've meant making decisions and trying to make a pass!

Hopefully this stage of the evolution brings the first of many titles.
